Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Augustine is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Anchor Insurance Company Limited. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, he was the Executive Director, Business Development and Marketing overseeing the entire marketing chains of the company.
Augustine started his working career with Erikana Nigeria Limited in 2000 to 2001 as a Marketing Officer engaged in the sales of the company’s products. Thereafter, he moved to Alliance & General Insurance Company Limited where he served in various capacities from 2001 to 2004 which he joined as an Executive and to rose to the position of Branch Manager due to his productive contributions to the growth of the company with his responsibilities covering clientele servicing, special risk marketing with emphasis on oil & gas, corporate and product development and general administration of the branch.
In 2004 he moved to Capital Express General Insurance Company Limited as a Manager to develop the Public Sector, Oil & Gas segment by identifying and developing strategies to deepen the Company’s market share.
He left the services of Capital Express in 2006 to start his business sojourn with Standard Alliance Insurance Company Plc from November 2006. Here, he garnered extensive experience and created a niche for himself in the market. Augustine started as Deputy Manager/Group Head; Public Sector saddled with the responsibility of starting and developing the Public Sector Group to enviable level and identifying business opportunities for the company and was promoted to Manager Public Sector, Oil & Gas & Telecoms in 2007.
In the same year 2007, he was again upgraded to Principal Manager/Divisional Head, Public Sector, Energy and Technical due to his knack for success and achieving set targets with the added function of formulating corporate and product developments.
In 2008, he was elevated to Assistant General Manager/Divisional Head, Public Sector, Energy & Telecoms, and rose to the position of General Manager/Divisional Head, North & South-West regions overseeing Public Sector, Energy, technical and Emerging Markets as a result of his outstanding results and expansion of these portfolios. He left the service of the company in December 2016 to join Anchor Insurance Company Limited as Executive Director, Business Development and Marketing.
Augustine is a graduate of Delta State University, Abraka and University of Ado -Ekiti, Ado-Ekiti where he obtained B.Sc (Economics) and MBA (Business Administration) respectively. He is awaiting his formal graduation for a Doctorate Degree in Business Management from University of Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom.
He is a member of several professional associations amongst which are Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS); and has attended courses and seminars locally and overseas amongst which are Executive Management course at the Lagos Business School and Management Course for CEOs at South African Academy of Learning, Pretoria. He is happily married with children.
Executive Director, Technical
Mr. Jeremiah holds both an MBA from Ambrose Ali University and Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Lagos. He is also an Associate of both Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN) and Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM).
He started his insurance career with Manilla Insurance Company Limited in Calabar and later joined Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation in 1990 and worked in various technical departments for over 17 years including management of WAICA Reinsurance Pool.
While in Nigeria, he was extensively exposed to the rudiments of global Insurance and Reinsurance practice including Africa, Asia and Middle East. Mr. Jeremiah has presented several papers and is a resource person for the development of insurance Professionals in Nigeria.
He has attended several courses and seminars locally and overseas.
General Manager, Business Development
Mr. Jide Fasanmi is the General Manager, Marketing. He joined the company from Staco Insurance Plc in May, 2018. He holds a B.Sc in Management Science from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) and a Master’s degree in Marketing and Strategic Management from the Lagos State University, Ojo, in 2004.
He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM), the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (ACIB) and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN). He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing.
He is a rounded insurance practitioner with an experience spanning almost three decades in insurance underwriting and broking concerns.
Mr. Fasanmi cut his teeth in insurance marketing at Guinea Insurance Plc in 1984. He later joined Bluefield Insurance Brokers Ltd as the pioneer General Manager in 1992. Mr. Fasanmi had a brief stint in Crystal Insurance Brokers as the General Manager. He moved to Regency Alliance Insurance Plc where he served as Assistant Controller (Marketing) and later joined Refuge Insurance Co. Ltd in 2003 as Controller (Marketing/Business Development).
In the course of pursuit of excellence, Mr. Fasanmi moved to Standard Alliance Insurance Plc in 2005 to re-engineer the Brokers Marketing for efficient client services as Principal Manager. He was mandated by the Executive Management of the company to resuscitate the almost dead Western Regional office in 2010. As a result of meeting the expectations of the Management on this task, Fasanmi was promoted to the position of Regional Director.
He later moved to Staco Insurance Plc as Assistant General Manager, Brokers/Branch Operations in 2015. He occupied this position until joining Anchor Insurance Company Limited as General Manager (Marketing).
He has attended various courses, seminars and conferences both locally and internationally.
He is a member of both Lagos Country Club and Apapa Club. He is happily married with children.
Deputy General Manager, Enterprise Risk Management
Mr. Austin Inegbenehi is the Chief Risk Officer of the company. Prior to joining Anchor Insurance Co. Ltd., he was Assistant General Manager, Great Nigeria Insurance Plc. where he was responsible for Enterprise Risk Management.
He had also worked with Sola Oyetayo & co (Chartered Account) as a Senior Manager and Paul Osian & Co (Chartered Accountants) as an Audit Manager.
He has lectured in various subjects like Insurance, Auditing and Financial Account in some Nigerian Universities and he is a member of various professional bodies vis-à-vis Institute of Chartered Account of Nigeria, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Professional Certification in Risk and Compliance Management, Certified Forensic Accountant and a few others.
He has attended various training and seminars both locally and internationally.
Assistant General Manager, Internal Auditor
Mr. Imowo Etim holds a bachelors’ degree in Accountancy from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Before joining Anchor Insurance Company Limited, he has worked with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) where he was posted to various departments and ended as a branch Internal Auditor before his departure.
Mr. Etim moved to Tayo Akintan & Co (Chartered Accountants) where he acquired extensive professional experience in accounting, auditing, taxation and financial advisory before he proceeded to SIAO (Chartered Accountants), one of the leading accounting firms in Nigeria to continue his professional practice.
He spent 10 years at SIAO auditing across industries such as; Oil and gas, construction, banking, insurance, marine, merchandising and the public sector.
He is an associate member (ACA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and (ABR) Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).
Company Secretary/Legal Adviser
Barrister Umoh is the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser. He obtained LLB (Hons) from University of Uyo, in 1994 and BL from Nigeria Law School, Lagos in 1995.
He was called to Bar same year.
Before joining Anchor, Barrister Umoh worked in the same position for Nnedu Endeavour Nigeria Limited; and Afet Nigeria Limited.
Is the Financial Controller for Anchor Insurance Company Limited, He is a Chartered and Certified Accountant and Professional Tax Administrator, he holds HND in Accounting and PGD business Administration.
Mr. Kokoete is a highly motivated and result oriented individual with strong passion for professionalism and efficiency.
Group Human Resource Manager
Mr. Bassey is the Group Head, Human Resources and Administration in the company. He started his work career as Office Assistant with Ministry of Health, Cross River State in 1982. He left the Ministry as Senior Personnel Assistant to further studies in 1984. He joined the employment of Anchor Insurance Company Limited as an Administrative Officer in 1991. In 2010 he was appointed Group Head, Human Resources and Administration.
He holds B.SC and PGD (BA) from University of Uyo, Cross River State in 1988 and 1998 respectively. He also holds Certificate in Effective Supervisory Management and Work Planning Strategies from College of Arts, Management and Technology, Aba in 1993.
Mr. Bassey has attended several certificated training programs in Human Resources and Personnel Management; and on Administrative and Material Management locally and internationally.
He is an Associate Member of Personnel Management of Nigeria (AIPMN) and Associate Member, International Association for People and Performance Development (IAPPD).
